Bedfordshire Bed & Breakfast at The Old School House
Our Bed & Breakfast accommodation at The Old School House is located in an old cottage style house with a suite at the rear of the cottage which is available to guests on a ‘Bed and Breakfast’ basis. With an independent entrance, en suite shower room and a private living room we ensure you can keep your privacy while still benefiting from the services and knowledge of your hosts.
The Old School House Bed & Breakfast lies on a quiet lane leading to bridleways and footpaths in the open North Bedfordshire countryside. Its attractive location makes it a favourite for couples seeking a romantic weekend or few days away from the hustle and bustle of life!
Being less than a mile from the award winning Plough restaurant also within Bolnhurst adds to the attraction, meaning an Old School House breakfast can be complemented later in the day by a delicious lunch or dinner without travelling too far! Many other local villages have super pubs and there are more places to eat in both Bedford, Milton Keynes and St Neots.
Your Bed and Breakfast accommodation at The Old School House is in the picturesque village of Bolnhurst in Bedfordshire. The House is set in three acres of land with guests free to enjoy our extensive gardens or visit the sheep. Your rooms are self contained with breakfast available in your suite or on the patio.
Resident hosts, Michael and Wendy, are always on hand to welcome you and ensure your stay is comfortable and relaxing. They have packages available for special occasions and romantic trips.
The Garden Suite consists of a light and airy bedroom with a Super King size bed [twin bed option available] and en-suite shower room. The Suite also has a private sitting room. On the ground floor, it has its own entrance overlooking the garden and paddocks beyond.
The French doors from the sitting room lead to a secluded patio area with table and chairs in the pretty country garden. The attractively furnished sitting room has a dining area where breakfast is served each morning. Alternatively breakfast can be served on the patio if the English weather is kind!
After years of keeping a few sheep with our horses we decided to concentrate on some special sheep once our daughter’s horses were no longer here. So a search began for those special sheep!! First Milly, Molly and Mandy arrived to be followed in 2005 by a further five ewes and lambs. Guests are welcome to visit the sheep and children often enjoy stroking the lambs when supervised. As well as the sheep, our garden is also open to guests – providing plenty of space for children to play in or to just wander around and enjoy.
Our Bed and Breakfast is located in Bolnhurst – an ancient village with a famous pub serving fine cuisine. As well as the food, many people come and stay with us because of the beautiful countryside, or the many outdoor and country attractions on our door step. The College Equestrian Centre at Keysoe is just two miles away. There are numerous walking paths and bridleways connecting through Bolnhurst, making this part of Bedfordshire great for walkers and cyclists.
